Main purpose of role

Business West has set out its stall to learn and lead as we transition to a net zero carbon economy, helping businesses to understand what steps they need to take on their net zero journey and to help accelerate the region's transition. This role will provide support to the net zero team, helping with the events programme, Trading to Net Zero web pages and other related activities.

The work will vary day to day; one day you might be emailing attendees of one of our workshops, on another doing some research about net zero support, and on another inputting some information into a database. There will be work to do on your own, some work with colleagues and sometimes engagement directly with customers. You'll work with colleagues in the net zero team but also across Business West. You'll have the opportunity to learn more about how businesses are engaging with sustainability and support the development of our net zero offer.

Where is the opportunity based?

Hybrid working, splitting time flexibly between home, Leigh Court (BS8 3RA) and Engine Shed (BS1 6QH)

Intern description

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Comfortable working with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
Following processes in other systems (e.g. inputting into customer database, uploading content to web site)
Ability to work alone and part of a team
Interest in net zero and sustainability

We will invite successful candidates to a 45 minute competency based interview on Teams.
The interview questions will be based on the role we are looking to fill, along with a question about what the learner is hoping/expecting to get out of the placement.
