Skills Bootcamps at UWE Bristol

Skills Bootcamps Coming Soon...

Digital Built Environment (BIM) to Fabrication

This Bootcamp will provide individuals with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. Learners will experience the full design process from 3D design to prototype fabrication, exploring the use of suitable materials and how AR/VR technology allows the stakeholders from across projects to collaboratively create detailed 3D visualisations before any construction or manufacturing takes place.

Developing Organisational Sustainability Champions

Aimed at individuals from SME organisations who are looking to develop capabilities to support organisational strategies and understand key steps they can take to minimise their carbon emissions and grow their business, including developing a sustainability strategy; understanding their carbon footprint; waste and the circular economy; social sustainability; and communication and reporting.

 Managing Projects Successfully

Stand Up Meeting

Aimed at individuals working in non-traditional project management roles in their organisation, who are looking to develop an understanding of core principles of project management approaches and tools and techniques alongside leadership and communication skills, to be able to apply these into workplace scenarios from evaluating existing organisational practices, implementing new systems, managing organisational change or launching a new marketing campaign. Learner’s will achieve the  Association of Project Management (APM) Project Fundamentals professional qualification as part of this Bootcamp.

Funded by the Department for Education as part of their Skills for Life campaign, Skills Bootcamps are short, intensive, funded training courses available to individuals who live or work in England.

Each Skills Bootcamp will be up to a maximum of 16 weeks in duration, delivered in one full or half-day per week, providing in-depth knowledge and practical work-based applications of new skills.

Upon completion, learners receive UWE Bristol recognition of learning to help demonstrate and display the skills and capabilities they have developed through the course of the programme and in some cases an industry recognised qualification.

Available Skills Bootcamps

Our list of Skills Bootcamps is continuing to develop. If there are skills you are looking to develop for yourself or your current or future workforce, we can work with you to develop bespoke or open registration programmes to meet these needs.

Can't See Any Dates for a Skills Bootcamp?

This means at present, we don't have that particulate Bootcamp scheduled.

Due to Department for Education funding, we are required to apply for funding for each individual programme and can’t guarantee that programmes will be open at any given time. If you are interested in a particular Skills Bootcamp, please complete the expression of interest form and we will keep you up to date with new dates as they become available.

Skills Bootcamps Coming Soon

Each year the Department for Education and WECA (the West of England Combined Authority) put out a call for training providers to gain funding to deliver courses from their chosen areas of industry.

The provider (i.e. UWE) will then put forward a proposal to the funders, demonstrating that it would be of benefit to the local population to offer various courses. The provider must then wait to hear whether they have been awarded the funding.

Only then can we start to take applications for the successful courses. Until then we collect learners' expressions of interest.
