About Windmill Hill City Farm
Windmill Hill City Farm is a 4.5-acre green space in South Bristol, 20-minutes’ walk from Bristol city centre. It offers education, recreation and therapy for local people and is a vital hub for the community.
Facilities on site include a café and farm shop, children’s nursery, community & kitchen gardens, a range of farm animals, picnic and play areas, indoor and outdoor spaces to hire and a 5-a-side football pitch.

What would you be doing?
The intern will:

Analyse our energy consumption to provide good baseline data about our emissions across Scopes 1-3, and make actionable suggestions for reduction

Work with staff to motivate and engage them to take action in their own departments, which include health & social care, gardening, facilities, hospitality and nursery.

Due to the timing of the project, the interns will need to work independently, as annual leave plans mean the supervision will be varied across the 6 weeks.

What are the working hours?
Flexible – can be full time or part time.
Duration
6 weeks to be completed by 31st August 2022.
Intern description
There are no essential qualifications required for this Internship. Good written and spoken English is desirable
Essential skills/knowledge

Understanding of the contributing factors to carbon emissions and other environmental impacts (water use, biodiversity, etc)

Ability to work with some level of independence.

Good research skills, or a good foundation to build on.
-
Good communication skills, or a willingness and ability to quickly develop these.
-
Punctuality and enthusiasm.
