About Sustainable Fashion Week

Sustainable Fashion Week (16th - 25th September)  is the First Fashion Week of its kind.

 

Working in community engagement, we help make sustainable fashion accessible. Taking a creative, grass roots approach, we are seeking to empower people with skills and knowledge to help drive positive change in our relationship with clothes.

Main purpose of role

To support the planning and delivery of Sustainable Fashion Week 2022

What would you be doing? 

Communications Assistant 

 

Where is the opportunity based? 

Remote working, candidate must have their own laptop and internet access. Attendance at occasional evening and weekend events. 

What are the working hours? 

Full time

 

Intern description

Essential 

  • An experience of working with social media platforms.

  • A basic understanding of sustainability in fashion, the challenges the industry faces both environmentally and socially and what the solutions are.

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage with people from a variety of professional and community backgrounds.

  • Excellent and engaging written skills, with the ability to communicate about sustainability. 

  • Excellent time management, with the ability to self-motivate whilst working remotely.

  • A self starter, able to work independently whilst receiving regular direction and a clear plan and objectives - getting the job done without a large staff team to support

  • The ability to manage a varied and often very busy workload, prioritising tasks adequately and reacting to regularly changing to do list

  • A real team player - with understanding about working in a very small team trying to create something exceptional with a limited budget and time. 

 

Desirable

  • An ability to think outside the box - bringing ideas to the table to help us grow and develop our community offering.  

  • Journalism qualification

  • Experience of working with digital platforms and building websites.

  • Experience of working with social media platforms in a professional capacity.

  • Experience of blog writing.

  • Experience of design for social media.

  2. The letter should be no more than 1 x side of A4 and should cover:

    • What you would bring to the role and organisation

    • What you would like to get out of the experience

    • Any examples of experience, knowledge or interest in sustainable fashion 

  3. We will then interview all candidates based on experience, interest and knowledge. 

  4. Depending upon interest and experience it may be necessary for a secondary interview.
