Pathway Programme

A set of four flexible and free-to-access skills development pathways designed to help individuals take advantage of workplace opportunities, utilise new technologies and tackle real-life work-based challenges.

ABOUT

The UWE Skills Pathway Programme has been designed to provide fully funded skills training for individuals to address current technological challenges in their sector. The programme consists of four pathways aimed to support those working in the Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction or Legal Services sectors with modules covering topics such as Retrofit, sustainable marketing, leading with inclusivity, managing remote teams, applied AI and more. HOW DOES IT WORK?

Learning will vary between online self-study

tutor-led sessions and 1-2-1 mentorship. 

 

Each pathway is made up of a

range of core and supplementary modules,

and our Learner Engagement Lead

will work with you to choose the pathway and modules that best fit your professional needs and career development goals.

Industry experts will offer practical advice and guidance throughout, helping you to apply your

newly acquired skills and knowledge to overcome 

real-world workplace challenges.

​

On completion, you will receive the UWE digital badge as well as access to a wide range of possible onward progression with signposting into areas of learning and development that best suit you.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The scheme is open to individuals living in the West of England (Bath and North-East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire) who work for an SME (small and medium sized enterprise) in the Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction or Legal sector.

I am not eligible. What other skills development courses are available?

UWE runs a wide range of professional development courses covering areas such as leadership, finances and marketing. Please visit our website for more information about the courses we offer.

 

For wider regional support, Skills Connect is a great resource for those in the West of England looking to further develop their skills. Browse their directory for a full list of available training courses.

How long will the programme last?

Our Pathways are designed flexibly so that you can learn at your own pace. Each pathway should take around 3 months to complete and will include 1-2-1 meetings with industry experts and our Learning Engagement Lead, tutor-led sessions and flexible online modules.

What support will I receive during the programme?

An initial Needs Assessment with our Learning Engagement Lead will enable you to establish your goals before you begin studying. They will then be available to offer you support and guidance throughout your course to ensure you are getting the most out of your learning. You will also receive an additional 5 hours of 1-2-1 support from an industry expert as part of your skills development course to develop industry-specific skills and knowledge to help you achieve career success.

How will the Skills Pathway Programme benefit me and my business?

On completion of the programme, alongside the UWE digital badge validating your newly found proficiency, you will also have access to a wide range of support and progression opportunities to suit your career and development goals.

How do I know which Pathway is right for me?

Each pathway is made up of a range of core and supplementary modules. Our Learning Engagement Lead will work with you to design a programme which is best suited to your individual needs and goals.
